For some people, anxiety is the obvious kind: racing thoughts, panic, sleepless nights. For others, it shows up quieter, as perfectionism, irritability, or never being able to rest. However it found you, it's exhausting. And it's something we can work with.
Social anxiety that makes everyday interactions feel like high-stakes performances, leaving you drained for hours afterward.
Phobias that get in the way of your life: public speaking, crowded places, social events you'd rather skip.
Ruminating on conversations long after they're over, replaying every word, every look, every thing you wish you'd said differently.
Anxiety that shows up as anger or irritability, snapping at the people you love because everything feels too loud, too much, too close.
Panic attacks that come without warning, leaving you scared of when the next one might hit.
The constant feeling of not being good enough, no matter how much you achieve.
Perfectionism that has you working twice as hard, redoing what doesn't need to be redone, never quite feeling done.
Generalized anxiety that hums under everything, a baseline worry that doesn't have a single source and never quite turns off.
Burnout that has you running on empty, going through the motions, wondering when you forgot how to rest.
Constantly running from task to task, never able to slow down, because slowing down feels worse than staying busy.
Anxiety isn't a flaw. It's your nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do: scanning for threats, keeping you safe, preparing for what might go wrong. The problem is, it never learned when to turn off. So now it runs all the time, even when the actual danger has passed, even when nothing is wrong at all.
My background in Neuroscience and Recreational Therapy means I understand anxiety as something that lives in the body and brain, not just in your thoughts. Therapy is where we work with the whole system, gently, so your nervous system can finally learn that it is safe to rest, safe to be present, and safe to be you.
Anxiety therapy isn't about getting rid of every uncomfortable feeling. It's about helping your nervous system find its way back to a sense of safety, building tools to navigate the harder moments, and learning to trust yourself again.
We get specific about what your anxiety actually looks like, when it shows up, what triggers it, and how it lives in your body. No two anxieties are exactly alike, and understanding yours is the first step.
Before anything else, we make sure you have ways to bring yourself back when anxiety spikes. Grounding techniques, nervous system regulation, distress tolerance, practical tools you can actually use in your real life.
Anxiety is rarely just about the surface trigger. Together, we look at the deeper patterns, the old experiences your nervous system is still responding to, and the beliefs about yourself that have been driving the cycle.
Therapy ends when anxiety is no longer running the show. You leave with a calmer nervous system, a deeper understanding of yourself, and the tools to keep moving through life with more presence, more steadiness, and more space to actually live.
Within a few sessions, you start to notice small changes. A breath that goes deeper than it has in months. A racing thought that doesn't quite hijack your day the way it used to. A moment of stillness that feels less threatening and more like rest.
You begin to recognize anxiety when it arrives, instead of being swept away by it. You catch yourself spiraling, and you find your way back. You have a hard conversation, and your body doesn't shake for the rest of the day.
The constant background hum gets quieter. You start to feel like there's room inside you again.

The hum quiets. Your shoulders aren't permanently up by your ears. Rest feels possible, and so does presence. You can sit in a moment without immediately looking for the next thing.
Anxiety still visits, because life still happens. But it doesn't run you anymore. You catch the spiral, breathe through it, and choose how you want to respond. You trust yourself again.
You stop performing. You stop apologizing. You set boundaries, say no, choose what matters. You become someone who lives, instead of just managing.

I'm Dani Sablinskas, a Canadian Certified Counsellor working at Clear Counselling in Downtown Vancouver. I came to this work through my own experiences with therapy, and I know how hard and uncomfortable reaching out for help can be. My goal is to help you move through the discomfort and build a life you're proud of.
My background in both Neuroscience and Recreational Therapy gives me a holistic understanding of how the mind and body are connected, and why anxiety responds best to approaches that work with the whole system, not just the thoughts.
I work with adults across British Columbia, both in person at my downtown Vancouver office and online. If you're ready to talk, I'd love to hear from you.
